How difficult is the Mera Peak Trek?

The Mera Peak Trek is considered challenging due to its high altitude and glacier. It requires physical fitness, acclimatization and some previous trekking or climbing experience.

The best times to trek are during the pre-monsoon (March to May) and post-monsoon (September to November) seasons when the weather is more stable and clear.

The trek typically takes 12 days, including travel to and from Kathmandu and acclimatization. The duration can vary based on individual pace and conditions.

You need a TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) card and Sagarmatha National Park permit.

Accommodation includes teahouses or lodges in lower areas and camping at higher altitudes, including base camp. Facilities are basic but sufficient for trekking needs.
